Setting Up Ad Hoc Message Communication Generator
Use the Ad Hoc Message Communication Generator to let agency staff generate draft text for ad hoc emails and notifications. Staff enter prompt text on the New ad hoc message page for a transaction and review the generated response, inserting the text into the message body when appropriate.
The AI Assist button can be configured for ad hoc draft messages in these areas:
-
Permits
-
Planning and Zoning
-
Business Licenses and location
-
Code Enforcement cases and incidents
-
Code Enforcement incidents
The generated message is a draft. Agency staff should review and revise the text before sending the communication.

Configuring the AI Agent Constant
Use the applicable AI agent constant for each offering or area where the AI Assist button should appear.

For each constant, confirm that:
-
The agent is set to show on the page.
-
The constant uses the agent code or agent team code for the copied and published agency-specific agent.
-
Any required page context parameters are retained.
Configure each offering or area separately. For example, enabling the generator for Permits doesn’t automatically enable it for Planning and Zoning, Business Licenses, Code Enforcement cases, Code Enforcement incidents, or Business Entity Location.
