Changes in the Structure work area

The Structure work area includes these modifications:

  • You can now scan for unsupported EL expressions used in the visible and destination settings of your navigation entries, using the Scan for unsupported expressions link in the Structure work area. This link is available on the Navigation Configuration page for the News feed layout, and the Product Map Configuration page for Home with Ask Oracle.
    • For the News feed layout, it's recommended that you resolve the unsupported EL expressions to avoid issues in future Redwood experiences.
    • For Home with Ask Oracle, you must resolve the unsupported EL expressions for users to use your navigation entries.

  • While configuring navigation entries, if you set the link type as Static URL or Dynamic URL, you now enter the destination URL using the Edit icon. Clicking it opens the Link Editor dialog box, where you can validate the EL expressions for the URL.

Changes Specific to Home with Ask Oracle

  • When Home with Ask Oracle is set as the home page layout, the title of the Navigation Configuration page changes to Product Map Configuration. On this page, you configure the navigation entries that appear on the product map. The hierarchy of the navigation entries that you define here correlates to the levels in the product map.

  • On the Product Map Configuration page, when you scan for unsupported EL expressions, the Navigation Entries Requiring Review page displays a list of entries with unsupported EL expressions used for the visibility and destination settings of your navigation entries.

Even though these entries appear in Home with Ask Oracle, here are a few things to note:

    • Entries with unsupported ELs in the visibility settings won't be available to users.

    • Entries with unsupported ELs in the destination settings won't be navigable.

You must edit the EL expressions to resolve these errors.

Navigation Entries Requiring Review page

  • You can enter alternate labels for navigation entries while configuring them. These labels are used in Home with Ask Oracle search and suggestions. They must be clear without the group or parent node context and should be unique and unambiguous with respect to any other alternate label. Navigation entries with missing alternate labels will instead display the name, which may be unclear.
  • In Home with Ask Oracle, the title of the Home Configuration page changes to Infolet Configuration. On this page, you can rename infolet pages, and show or hide them.

These Structure work area changes help you resolve unsupported EL expressions used in your navigation entries and provide configuration support for the alternate label used in Home with Ask Oracle.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

If you create a navigation entry using the Structure work area when News feed is the home layout, that entry will also be available in Home with Ask Oracle if enabled.
