Adjust Column Width for System and Personal Views
Hi everyone. Today, I will be going over adjusting column width for system and personal views.
In this feature, users will be able to make column width changes within a view. These changes will stay persistent as part of the saved view for a personal saved search. This feature provides more control to set up views. The outcome of this feature is that users can choose attributes to show or hide, and resize columns based on their personal preference.
I will now go into the demo for this feature. In this update, users will be able to adjust and save column widths for both system and personal views. Previously, if column width changes were made within a view, the user would need to redo the same changes when accessing the view again. From this update onwards, the column widths are persisted as part of the saved view for the personal saved search.
From the Product Information Management landing page, select Search Product Management in the Task panel under Product Management Experience. On the Product Management search page, the business user can change and save the column width for personal views by using the drag and drop method. For example, if I want to expand upon the item class column, all I have to do is drag and drop the column width.
To save this change, go to the View selector and select the Edit icon next to the name of the personal view. From here, click on the Save button at the bottom of the column drawer. This will save your changes. Once these changes have been saved, click on Cancel. And now these changes will stay persisted for any time you access the view again.
The administrator can make changes to the view from both the Product Management search page and the Configure views page. The administrator can make changes on the Product Management search page in the same way that the business user can. The administrator can access the Configure views page and select the view that they'd like to edit.
There are two ways the user can edit the column width for the view. The administrator can go ahead and change the desired pixel value in the column width column. Administrators can also edit the column widths by using this preview layout tab on the view page.
The preview layout gives a preview of what the view is currently configured as. The administrator can adjust the column widths by using the drag and drop method on this page. When making these changes, these changes will be instantly reflected on the product management search page. Once done with making your changes, click Save and these changes will stay persisted for the next time the user accesses the view.
Today, I went through the basic functions of adjusting column widths for system and personal views, and gave you an introduction of the new update. For more details, you can consult the help documentation. This is the end of the demo. Thank you so much for watching.
