Generate Shift Summary for the Production Supervisor
Welcome to the demo of the 24D feature, generate shift summary for the production supervisor in Fusion Manufacturing. With this feature, you can use AI Assist to generate a shift summary when creating a shift report. This consolidates all the nodes created by the operators and exceptions across all workstations in a work center. Supervisors can now save time in creating the shift report using generative AI.
A consolidated shift summary facilitates clear communication between shifts for a smooth handoff. The AI Assist creates a summary that is well formatted with highlights and things that need attention. Supervisors can also add their own comments before using the Assist, or they can edit the AI generated summary before saving the shift report.
Let us see through a demonstration how the AI Assist can help a production supervisor in creating a summary. I am currently logged in as a production supervisor. I can navigate to the Production Supervisor workbench using the task Production Supervision. I am already in the context of the organization, Seattle Manufacturing.
I'm now in the Production Supervisor workbench landing page. The shift summary is available as part of a feature called Create and store shift report in Production Supervisor workbench. To access the reporting feature, we should simply navigate to this Reporting tab here. The workbench works within the context of a work center. To access reporting capability, I should first select the work center that I'm responsible for, so I'm going to pick this work center before I start creating a report.
Once I select the work center, I can view the past shift reports from this work center. I can click this and open this report and view it. I can create a new shift report at the end of my shift. To do that, I'm going to click this button, and this is taking me to a page where I simply select the shift for which I need to create a report. Once I select a shift, I can just click this Confirm button. The report is now generated as a PDF file, and I can click this icon to view it. This also opens up the summary field for us to enter the summary.
And here is where we are using the power of AI to help the supervisor write a comprehensive summary. Let us say as a supervisor, I enter some comments at the end of the shift as part of the reporting process. Once I enter my comments, I can click this AI Assist button, and this is going to vastly improve the summary that I have written using the real time information captured during the shift.
As we can see, the summary has been rewritten, and this is a very comprehensive, yet concise summary of what happened during the shift. And it has a highlight section that tells us the key events of the shift. It also tells us things that need attention, and this is particularly useful for the upcoming supervisor. It has preserved the comments that I originally entered as a supervisor.
At this point, I can make some edits to this summary. When I'm done, I will go ahead and click this Submit button, and this submits and completes the shift report. This is how generative AI helps supervisors create a comprehensive shift summary. And this shift summary is stored as part of the shift report, and it can be viewed at a later point. This concludes the demonstration for this feature. Thank you so much for watching.
