Qualify Equipment and Operator Before Executing Production at a Workstation

Welcome to the demo of the 24D feature Qualify Equipment and Operator Before Executing Production at a Workstation.

Complex work order operations and usage of specialized equipment during execution necessitates both the equipment and the operator performing the execution to be qualified prior to start of execution. With this update, you can validate that the equipment resource instances are qualified based on the equipment profile in the operation resource. You can also validate that the operator is also qualified to execute the operation based on the job profile in the work order operation resource. Both these qualifications are done prior to start of the work order operation execution.

Now, let's look at a demo scenario where we would be qualifying resource instances before beginning execution of a work order operation. Here we have a workstation with three equipment resource instances assigned to it: Stick Welder 1, Stick Welder 2, and MIG Welder. The work order operation that we are going to execute have three operation resources. All of them have qualification profiles associated with it. Stick Welder and MIG Welder have equipment profiles associated with them. And the labor resource of Welder has a job profile associated with it. The operator would need to be qualified for the job profile that they are executing.

Notice that we have two equipment resource instances for the resource Stick Welder at the workstation. Both of them would need to be qualified for the equipment profile defined at the operation resource.

Qualification requirements are defined against the work order operation resources, as shown here.

Let's get to the demo flow now. Launch the Execute Production at a Workstation task by navigating to the Work Execution work area in Supply Chain Execution. Select and check in to a workstation.

Scan a work order. And then select a work order operation to execute. If there was only one operation with ready quantities, then you would directly be taken to the details page of that work order operation.

The qualification results for equipment resource instances is readily displayed in this page. Notice that out of the three equipment resource instances here, one of them is not qualified. Qualification results that require the operator's attention are displayed as banner messages. If the operator was not qualified for a job profile in the work order operation resource, they would also be notified by a error banner message. Also, notice that the Start button is disabled if all the resource instance qualification requirements for this operation are not met.

This concludes the demo for this feature.
