Leverage PLM Navigator using a Redwood Page

Welcome to the demo of the update 24D feature Redwood leveraged PLM navigator and SCM Product Lifecycle Management. The PLM navigator allows you to easily access your saved searches across objects and various page contexts. It also allows you to access the clipboard, which now supports pinning of items for easy and repeated access between sessions.

By providing all the saved searches in the PLM Navigator, which is available throughout the application, engineers and other end users can run, saved searches and get access to the list of items, changes, or manufacturers they are interested in. From here, they could choose to Add Items to the clipboard to be added to a structure or change order in the classic UI.

This feature provides product management users an easy and predictable experience for referencing and reusing components throughout the development process. Let's move on to the demo. This demo shows you how Redwood leveraged PLM Navigator enhances your business. I've logged in as a design engineer and navigated to the product management, product development work area.

In the task side panel, I select Search Products, which is available under Product Management Experience. You'll now see the PLM Navigator on the left hand side of the page, with a product management search item, default view on the right-hand side. On the PLM Navigator saved searches tab, I can see all of my personal shared searches for objects I can access.

Please note that, currently, only personal shared searches are supported. If you want a saved search to be available to navigator, you must create a saved search and select the Enable Sharing Checkbox. I can either select an object to run the default view, which is similar to selecting it from the dropdown, or I can directly select a saved search.

For example, I can click on my Saved Search for power supply. This will run the personal shared search I had previously created. I can then navigate to the clipboard tab of the PLM Navigator. The clipboard contains any items that have been added using the classic UI. You can also add more items to the clipboard when running searches in Redwood.

For example, I can now select different power supplies and add them to the clipboard. The most recently added items are at the top of the clipboard and have the checkbox selected. However, if there is an item that you would like to keep at the top of the clipboard for easy access, you can pin the item to the top of the list.

For example, the capacitor and power adapter have been pinned to the top. You can use the pin filter if you only want to display your pinned items, or you can filter it only to your clipboard items. By default, we show both pinned and clipboard items. Items added to the clipboard are available in the classic UI clipboard where you can select and add them to a structure or change order as an affected item.

If you'd like to see more details on an item, you can either click on the item directly in the clipboard, or you can use the three ellipses button to navigate to a specific tab. For example, if I want to see the categories for capacitor, I select Categories, and it loads the categories tab. Please note that the clipboard currently only supports items.

The PLM Navigator is visible by default. If you would like to hide the navigator, deselect the pin icon and click anywhere in the right-hand side. This will close the navigator. If you later want to access it, you can click on the navigator link at the bottom of the page. This concludes the demo. For the 24D update feature, Redwood leverage PLM navigator and SCM Product Lifecycle Management. Thank you for watching.
