Create and Manage Personalized Views in Product Management Search
Hi, everyone. Today, I will be going over the presentation for the new feature of creating and managing personalized views in Product Management Search. In this feature, users can create and save personalized views by copying from a system view and modifying the details to suit the user's requirements. This feature was created because there was a need for flexibility to create custom views that cater to each individual user and their business needs and daily tasks.
From this feature, the overall view creation process has been streamlined. It has increased user efficiency and productivity by providing the user control of how they feel product data should be presented for their distinct daily tasks. And it provides flexibility for when the user wants to go ahead and create, administer, and distribute views throughout the enterprise. I will now be going into the demo for this feature.
In this update, users will be able to create views specific to a person. This is known as personal views. The process of creating your own personal view requires you to duplicate an existing system view and edit from there. Now I will show you how that process occurs.
From the Product Information Management landing page, select search products in the Task panel under Product Management Experience. From there, you will be directed to the search navigator. To duplicate a system view, select the View button next to the clipboard, which will show all the system views that are currently enabled. From here, click the Duplicate icon that is next to the system view name.
This will open the column drawer that shows all the attributes that are currently being displayed in this view. The user can go ahead and make whatever changes they'd like to make. For example, I will duplicate the Default System View and hide Item Class and Primary Unit of Measure. Once I'm done, I can click on the Save As button, which will redraw the column drawer to allow the user to enter a personal view name and mark it as their duplicate. I'll go ahead and name this personal view Test View.
You can also select the checkbox if you'd like this personal view to be set as the default. Once you're done with creating the personal view name, you can go down and select, Save and Apply. Once the personal view has been created, you can go back and edit if you'd like. In the view selector, click the Edit icon, which opens up the column drawer. And from here, you can make any changes you'd like and click Save.
It's important to note that personal views are only available to the person who has created them, but the admin does have access to view and edit any of the personal views. The admin can go to the Configure View page and manage any existing views, but they are not allowed to create a personal view from this page.
This is the personal view that I had created. And the admin can view all this information and change anything they'd like. So basically, the admin will create the system views, and the user can duplicate and edit these views for their own personal use. Today I went through the basic functions of creating and managing personalized views in Product Management Search and gave you an introduction of this new feature. For more details you can consult the help documentation. This is the end of the demo. Thank you so much for watching.
