Perform Inventory Transactions Directly from View Item Quantities

Welcome to training for Oracle Fusion Inventory Management in Oracle Supply Chain Management Cloud. In this session, we'll talk about the feature perform inventory transactions directly from item quantities.

We'll begin our demonstration by navigating to the Inventory Management landing page. In the Inventory Work area, the Item Quantities task is displayed in place of Manage Item Quantities ADF task, when the profile for View Item Quantity's Redwood page is enabled. Also, you need to enable Redwood profiles for create miscellaneous transactions, subinventory transfer, interorganization transfer or project transfer in order to perform these transactions from the Redwood Item Quantities page.

Let's now click on the Item Quantities task to navigate to the Redwood Item Quantities page. The Redwood Item Quantities page has tabs for items, lots, serial numbers, and action status at the bottom. At the top, you'll see an organization context for all orgs when a user has access to more than one accessible organization. In case a user has access to a specific org, the specific org context appears at the top.

You can search on hand quantities by item, item description, or manufacturer part number. Additionally, you can also search on hand quantities by organization, subinventory, locator, item, or other filters at the top. You can view your on hand data by organization using the organization group by. Similarly, you can use subinventory locator project and task group bys to view the on hand data by these entities.

The detailed group by provides the on hand for an item for a combination of organization, subinventory, locator, project and task, and also country of origin. You also get to see the available to reserve and available to transact quantities corresponding to each on hand record.

You can view on hand quantities in the Primary UOM or using the Stocking UOM when you have a Stocking UOM enabled for a subinventory or an organization. You can choose to export your data onto a spreadsheet using the export icon at the top.

You have actions for create transfer order request cycle count, create miscellaneous transactions, create interorganization transfer, change material status, create movement request transfer, create movement request issue, create project transfer, change lot grade, and create subinventory transfer. In all, there are 10 actions which are supported from the Redwood Item Quantities page.

We'll select a specific on hand record and initiate a create transfer order action. This navigates us to the New Supply Request page. We'll enter the request quantity, the Primary UOM defaults, the request date defaults to today's date. We'll search the source organization from where we want to request the material. We'll select the source organization. And click on the Create button to create the supply request.

On the Supply Request page, we get to see the source organization, the destination subinventory, and the destination locator, which we have selected earlier. Let's now click on the Submit button to submit the transfer order request. The supply request is created. And the request for transfer order has been submitted.

When the orchestration process for the transfer order completes, you get to see the transfer order number under Document Number header in the Action Status page.

We'll go back to the Items tab to initiate a movement request issue for a lot controlled item. In order to do so, we'll click on the lot link corresponding to the item number. This navigates us to the large tab, where we see the lot number corresponding to the item. We also get to see the subinventory locator and on hand quantity that is available for the lot record.

We'll select the on hand record and initiate the Create Movement. Request Issue action. This navigates us to the Movement Request Issue page. We'll enter the account at the header, and click on the Save button in order to propagate the chosen account for all the lines.

The account number propagates to the lines. We'll click on the Update icon to enter the quantity details for the movement request. As you can see, the account detail defaulted from what we entered earlier. The source subinventory and the source locator information defaulted from the header. The lot information defaulted from the lot record. As we scroll down, we see the available quantity corresponding to the on hand record.

Based on the available quantity, we can place the request for the quantity for which we want to create the movement request. Having entered the quantity details, we'll click on the Update button. This navigates us back to the Movement Request Issue page. We can now submit the movement request here. The movement request is created. We can view the status of the movement request by navigating to the Action Status page.

The movement request number appears under the Document Number. We'll navigate back to the Items tab to create a miscellaneous transaction for an item for which we need to create on hand record in the system. In order to do this, we'll select the Create Miscellaneous Transactions action.

Now, because we don't have an on hand record, we chose the action which navigates us to the Miscellaneous Transactions page. We'll enter the transaction type as account receipt and enter the account number corresponding to which we want to create a receipt. We'll click on the Save button to propagate these details to the lines.

We'll use the Add Item button to enter the item details. We are creating the receipt for a serial controlled item. We'll enter the item number. The transaction date defaults to the current date. Let's enter the cost details for the item for the cost component. We'll enter the tax details.

We'll enter the subinventory in which we want to create the receipt. Since it's a locator-controlled sub, we need to provide the locator. We now enter the quantity for which we want to create a receipt. And now, we'll enter the from serial number. The two serial number is automatically derived based the from serial number and the quantity.

You can add attachments. You can add DFF information under Additional Information section. We'll click on the Done button, which navigates us back to the Miscellaneous Transactions page. You can also enter the lot and serial details using the record, lot, or serial numbers icon. Let's now submit.

This creates miscellaneous receipt for the serial-controlled item in the system. And we see a new on hand record getting added to the subinventory for which we are viewing the item quantities.

We'll now click on the serial number, which navigates us to the Serial Numbers page. And initiate a subinventory transfer action for some of the serials. We'll select the serials. And click on the Create Subinventory Transfer action. This navigates us to the Subinventory Transfer page. We'll enter the destination subinventory and the locator details at the header. The save action propagates the destination details onto the lines for the different serial numbers.

The transaction quantity is automatically derived based on the serial number. With this, we can submit the records. A transaction has been submitted for subinventory transfer. This completes our demo. Thank you for listening.
