Receive Goods Using a Mobile Device
This demonstration shows you how you can create a receipt transaction using a mobile device. Let's start the demonstration. On the inventory management mobile work area, click on the Receive Goods task. We first need to select the organization and click on Continue. In case a user only has access to one organization, the organization will be selected automatically and the user will be taken to the next step. We select the organization from the list and click on the Continue button.
We can create a receipt by either searching by order, or by searching by item. Earlier we used to have a switcher to select Receive By Order or Receive By Item. It has now been replaced by a drop down. In case we search by order, then all the lines which are available for receiving in the order show up as cards on the page.
Let us create a receipt transaction by searching by order for this demo. Enter the order number and click on Continue. We are presented with all the lines which are available for receiving in the order as cards on the page. We can then proceed by either clicking on the card to open the drawer to enter the required information, or by entering or scanning the item number in the item barcode field on top of the page.
All the cards where additional information is needed have an action required badge on them. The information shown on these cards is customizable as well. Click on the item card to open drawer. Enter the received quantity, destination subinventory, and destination locator. Click on Update button. The entered information is saved, and action required badge from the card is not displayed anymore.
We can also scan item barcode, or enter item number in the item field to open the drawer. In case we want to remove this item from the list of items to receive, click on more action buttons at the bottom. Click on Remove from List. The item is removed from the list of items to receive. The Receive All button is still disabled, as we have one line in items to receive list with the action required
Badge. Click on the card. Enter the received quantity, subinventory, and locator. Click on Update button. Receive All button is now enabled, as all the lines have the required information updated. Click on Receive All button. On the header page, you can optionally enter tracking number, packing slip number, add attachments, update DFF, or select Print label checkboxes to print labels. Click on Submit after providing the required information. Receipt is created. We have seen how a receipt transaction can be created using a mobile device. This concludes the demonstration.
