Omni-channel Inventory Configuration Enhancements

You can now define granular inventory thresholds if required, for a combination of Channel and Stock Keeping Unit (SKU). If this is not required, you can continue to use the global thresholds.

Whenever these thresholds are reached, events are generated that can be consumed for appropriate inventory management decisions.

In addition to the above, there is a new threshold for safe limit that can be optionally defined at global as well as Channel-SKU combination. When this threshold is reached, the shopping cart checkout is prevented along with an associated event that gets generated.

The business benefit of this feature is that it provides for more granular inventory management control in tune with the business needs.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Access Requirements

Back Office Specialist role is required to be provisioned to define, update and query the configuration.
