Integrate with Service Catalog Design
Delivering customer-centric catalog modeling along with operational efficiency requires seamless alignment between Commercial catalog definitions and Technical catalog definitions. Integrating the commercial catalog with the technical catalog enables a synchronized co-design approach to provide an unified Design time experience to cater to what and how products and services are being sold to the market along with how these services are fulfilled and managed across the product and services lifecycle management.
You can now co-design the commercial catalog definitions in Launch Cloud Service along with the technical definitions in Oracle's Service Catalog and Design (SCD) and co-ordinate the distribution to their respective runtime applications. In this integration you can start modeling Customer Facing Services (CFS) in SCD which can be consumed by Launch using the Listener Framework. Once the CFS (Service Specifications) are in Launch, you can model the Product Specifications and its mapping to Service Specifications and use it in Product Offerings which can be consumed by SCD to complete the definition of CFS and its associated Fulfillment patterns. Once both the Design Time systems are completed with their design time configurations, both the systems can distribute the catalog definitions to their respective runtime systems.
The data flow of this co-design capability is shown below:

SCD-Launch Productized Data Flow
Note: At the end of step 8, both the Design Time Apps are now ready to publish to their respective runtime applications.
Catalog Data ownership:
- Launch - Product Specifications, Product Specifications to Service Specifications mappings
- SCD - Service Specifications (Customer Facing Services Specifications)
Supported Integration use cases:
- Ability to consume SCD events for new and revisions to Services Specifications by Launch
- Ability to consume Launch events for new, revisions and retirement to Product Specifications and its Service Specifications mappings by SCD
The co-design of Commercial and Technical catalog ensures that every commercial product is technically realizable and every technical capability is commercially realizable at design time to provide:
- Faster Market releases with predictability of what is being sold will be provisioned and managed
- Minimizes order fallouts with upfront alignment between commercial and technical definitions
- Improve customer satisfaction with the ability to adapt to rapidly evolving marketplace
Steps to enable and configure
Please refer to the Release 26B Launch Integration Guide (Setup Task List section) for setting up the integration with SCD
