Ability to Preview POV while Importing Reports in Smart View (Mac and Browser)

When you import a report, you can now preview and set the POV before importing it in Smart View (Mac and Browser).

In Smart View (Mac and Browser), when you import a report, the Select POV dialog appears, and you can control the POV by editing the values. The report is imported with the selected POV in a new workbook. If you click Cancel in the Select POV dialog box, the import process is cancelled and the report does not get imported in Smart View (Mac and Browser). If you do not want to change the default POV, click OK to proceed importing reports.

Business Benefit: Previewing the POV gives you the ability to control and edit it before importing and opening a report.

Steps to Enable

To enable previewing of POV while importing reports, you need to enable it in user preferences in the web application. Navigate to Tools, click User Preferences, and select the Preview POV check box in the Reports tab.

Tips And Considerations

  • If previewing POV is not enabled in user preferences, then the report is imported with the default POV.
  • You can also change the POV after importing a report using the Edit POV option on the Reports ribbon.
