Cube Specification Now Optional for Custom Dimensions in Cloud EPM Applications

During registration of an Oracle Cloud EPM application in Enterprise Data Management, the association of a Custom dimension to one or more cubes is now optional.  This enables the Custom dimension type to be used for managing dimensions that do not have cube-specific properties and eliminates the need to modify binding keys after registration to prevent the import and export of those properties.  Optional cube specification for Custom dimensions is available for the following application types:

  • Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management
  • FreeForm
  • Financial Consolidation and Close
  • Planning
  • Planning Modules
  • Tax Reporting

Business Benefit: The Custom dimension type in a Cloud EPM application can be used to manage dimensions that do not have cube-specific properties and do not have a predefined dimension type in Enterprise Data Management.  Examples include the Currency, Smart List, or Year dimensions.
