Only Port 443 Allowed for External Web Services Connections
Connections to external Web services now require port number 443 if a port number is specified.
Applies to: Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management, Financial Consolidation and Close, FreeForm, Planning, Tax Reporting
If you select Other Web Service Provider in the Connections user interface, a new info icon appears next to the URL input field. When you hover over the info icon, a message displays informing you that secure URLs (that is, URLs that use the HTTPS protocol) should either have no port specified or port 443. If you input a non-secure URL that uses HTTP and then tab out of the URL field, an error message is displayed saying that only HTTPS URLs are allowed.
Business Benefit: Using a secure URL and the specified port (443) or no port at all for external Web services connections improves security.
