New Instructions for Removing Near-Zero Values from Data Cells

The Operations Guide has been updated with information for identifying and removing near-zero values from Cloud EPM applications.

The presence of a significant percentage of near-zero data cell values (for example, 0.000000001604) can cause issues with the business processes. For instance — allocations that distribute a $1 cost across hundreds or thousands of entities, or lease and loan calculations where interest affects opening and closing balances resulting in data cells with very small values. Previously, these values could be identified and removed only through manual methods.

Applies to Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management, Financial Consolidation and Close, FreeForm, Planning, Tax Reporting

Business Benefit: The new instructions help you identify and remove near-zero data cell values programmatically, which helps in reducing the size of the Essbase cubes making business rules and retrievals faster.
