Strategic Modeling Supports User-Defined Accounts on the Web
Strategic Modeling now supports user-defined accounts on the web. Previously, user-defined accounts were supported only in Smart View.
Depending on the template, some predefined user-defined accounts slots can be edited, and in some cases, you can insert new user-defined accounts.
User-defined accounts can be defined as:
Input Accounts:
- If you want to manually enter the value for the account, you define it as an input account. This allows for direct data entry, bypassing any automated calculations.
- You can also use input accounts to forecast values in forecast periods.
Calculated Accounts:
- If you want the account value to be calculated based on other accounts or formulas, define it as a calculated account.
- This involves specifying a formula that uses output from other accounts to derive the value.
- In this case, the account's value is recalculated when the model is calculated.
To add or configure a user-defined account:
- In the Account View, navigate to or search for the account for which you want to add a user-defined account. Right-click the account, and then select Insert Child or Insert Sibling.
Alternatively, you can select an existing editable account. - Select the account, and then from Actions menu, select Properties.
- Enter properties for the selected account. Properties vary depending on the account, and include:
