Faster Responsive Search in Member Selection and Cell-Based POV

The ability to search for members in the Member Selection dialog box and in the cell-based POV has been improved to make your search experience faster and responsive.

You can now experience real-time, look-ahead search powered by Suggest REST API while searching for members in the Member Selection dialog box and in cell-based, in-grid POV search box. As you start typing in the search box, the results are displayed instantly, thus significantly reducing the time to locate the right member.

For example, if you start typing the letters “to”, the members containing “to” in their names appear in the search results. As you continue to type “total”, the search results now display member names containing the word “total” in them. You do not have to initiate the search by pressing Enter or clicking the Find button. You can select the required member in the search result and click Refresh to view the updated details.

Note the following changes in the new member search experience:

  • You can search using both member names and aliases.
  • The members in the search results are displayed as a flat list, instead of the hierarchical tree view.
  • The new search experience is supported only for Cloud EPM data sources.
  • For on-premises data sources and environments where the Suggest REST API is not available, the earlier search experience of typing the search term and initiating search using Enter or Find button continues to work without any changes.

Business Benefit: Using the new responsive search, users are able to view the matching members instantly as they type, thus reducing the time to locate the right member.
