US 1099 Electronic and Forms Reporting Changes for Tax Year 2024

Generate electronic files for Forms 1099-MISC, 1099-NEC and 1096, according to the specifications for tax year 2024 published by the US Internal Revenue Service. 

The Manage Tax Regions page includes the following updates to the Combined Federal/State Filing Program:

  • Rhode Island is added to the list with code 44.
  • District of Columbia is reassigned code 11.
  • Pennsylvania is reassigned code 42.

The layout of Form 1096 has been updated with one additional checkbox between the checkboxes for forms 1099-CAP and 1099-DIV, in accordance with the layout changes published by the IRS. The remaining boxes have been realigned accordingly.

Updates to Copy A and Copy B of Form 1099-G include:

 • Revision details are updated to (Rev. March 2024).

• The entire year will be printed in the calendar year region.

• Revision details at the end of the form are updated to (Rev. March 2024).
