Governmentwide Spending Data Model Version 1.1.1 Updates in Fiscal Year 2026
U.S. federal agencies and departments submit data to the U.S. Department of the Treasury each month to comply with the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act (DATA Act). Treasury consolidates these submissions across the government and publishes the results on USAspending.gov to provide citizens with clear visibility into how tax dollars are used.
As part of the monthly process, agencies must now include two additional USSGL accounts 480210 and 497210 along with the required balance calculations in DATA Act Files B and C. Accordingly, agencies shall report these accounts and calculations in their submissions, consistent with the DATA Act’s requirement to report ledger balances using a defined set of attributes.
The business benefit of this feature is that it ensures agencies and departments within the US federal government comply with DATA Act reporting requirements.
