Overridden Rate Retention During Financial Plan Rate Refresh

Refresh cost, revenue, and burdened rates on financial project plans, budgets, and forecasts while preserving user-overridden rates at the periodic or line level. Manual rate adjustments are retained during rate refresh actions performed using the Financial Project Plan, Budget, and Forecast user interface or the Financial Project Plans REST API, Projects Budgets REST API, Award Budgets REST API and Project Forecast REST API.

Project managers and project administrators can perform version-level rate refreshes without losing user overrides for one or more resources. Currently, they need to perform a line-by-line refresh to avoid the accidental refresh of user-overridden rates.

The business benefit of this feature is that it ensures user-entered rate overrides are preserved during rate updates, reducing the risk of data loss and enabling more accurate and reliable financial plan reviews.

Tips and considerations

When using the Financial Project Plans REST API, Projects Budgets REST API, Award Budgets REST API, or Project Forecast REST API to refresh rates for a financial plan version or for a range of projects, you must set the retainrateoverride attribute to Y in order to preserve user-specified rates.
