Receivables Transaction Date as the Fiscal Document Date

Use the Receivables transaction date as the fiscal document date when generating fiscal documents. This capability supports business scenarios that require issuing a fiscal document with a past date, such as recognizing ICMS tax credits for fixed assets or aligning transaction recognition with the appropriate fiscal document period.

Using the Receivables transaction date helps keep the fiscal document date and tax calculation date consistent. This alignment is particularly important at year-end, when Brazil VAT calculations must correspond to the fiscal document date submitted to the tax authority. Previously, fiscal documents for goods could use the system date when generated while tax was calculated using the Receivables transaction date, resulting in different dates for fiscal document generation and tax calculation.

This feature doesn't affect service fiscal documents. When a temporary service fiscal document is approved and converted to a service fiscal document, the service fiscal document date continues to be updated with the fiscal document date provided by the tax authority.

Business benefits include:

  • Supports compliance with Brazilian tax requirements by aligning the fiscal document date with the date used for tax calculation.
  • Supports business scenarios that require issuing fiscal documents with a past date.
  • Improves consistency in Brazil VAT reporting, particularly for year-end tax calculations.
