Data Ingestion and Extraction Services
- Data Extraction for Derived Business Terms
Starting with 26C, DFCS users can use Derived Business Terms in Data Extraction jobs to include computed fields as well as base fields. This helps in eliminating another hop in processing extracted data occasionally needed to meet downstream consumption requirements and thus in providing more comprehensive data exports.
- Data Extraction - Date Format
DFCS Data Extraction module allows users to specify date and date-time formats for extracted DATE and TIMESTAMP fields through the Data Extraction UI.
- Copy Data Extraction Definitions
Starting with this release, users can now copy an existing Data Extraction definition to quickly create a new extraction. This eliminates the human-errors in extending validated versions of extracts as users need to make only incremental changes to a working version of metadata.
- Derived Expressions on Transformed Columns
Enhance Oracle DFCS Ingest Connectors to support derived expressions that reference transformed columns from External Data Descriptors (EDD) and Derived Business Terms from Catalog lookup. The enhancement extends the Derived Column UI, expression builder, validation, and execution engine to enable creation and evaluation of complex derived columns during data ingestion into the staging area.
Enables advanced data transformations during ingestion, promotes reuse of existing transformation logic and business terms, improves data quality and consistency, reduces manual preprocessing, simplifies connector configuration, and accelerates onboarding of complex data sources while maintaining scalable performance.
