Redwood - Role-Based Performance Goal Approvals

When managers add or change any goals in the employee’s performance goal plan, they can now send them to their next-level manager for approval.

A manager can make changes to the employee’s goal plan only after:

  • The employee has completed making their changes and submitted the goal plan for approval.
  • The manager has either approved or rejected the goal plan and completed the approval process.

In addition to the above tasks, the manager can:

  • View that the goal plan is in pending approval status when they submit it for approval.
  • Withdraw the approval request.
  • Receive alert notifications when there’s a request for more information on the goal plan from their next-level manager.

The next-level manager receives a notification when there’s a goal plan awaiting their approval. They can approve it, edit it, reject it, or request for more information.

When a manager is working on an employee’s goal plan, the employee can’t do these tasks:

  • They can’t make any changes to the goal plan until their manager completes their changes on the goal plan and gets them approved.
  • They can’t view any new goals added by the manager until those goals are approved.
  • They can’t view the approval transaction details, although they can view that there are pending approvals.

NOTE: This feature is only available in Redwood and must be enabled through a profile option.

This feature enhances the usability of goal approvals with role-based approvals for goal changes or additions.
