Civil Service Pension EPN689

The calculation of contributions on added pensions of type EPA, EEPA and Additional Voluntary Contribution now comply with EPN689.

This EPN and Version 7.1 of the Standard Interface now provides the correct guidance that added pension, EPA and EEPA contributions for an employee on a family-related assumed pay absence must be based on actual pay (not assumed pay as previously advised). These are:

• Statutory Maternity Pay
• Paid Maternity Leave
• Paid Adoption Leave
• Paid Shared Parental Leave
• Paid Paternity Leave

For all other assumed pay absences, Added Pension, EPA and EEPA contributions must be based on assumed pay.
