Teachers' Pension and MCR Updates
To improve the functionality a number of enhancements have been added for Teachers' Pension and MCR.
-
Guidance has been provided on how customers can ensure that any non-pensionable allowances are not included in the pensionable pay when an absence rate is used. Additional information balances are now available to assist in managing this scenario:
-
Non-Pensionable Allowance TPS
-
Non-Pensionable Allowance Adjustment TPS
-
Feed the balance Non-Pensionable Allowance TPS with any Non-Pensionable Allowance elements included in the absence rate. To report the correct Actual Pensionable Pay value feed the balance "Non-Pensionable Allowance Adjustment TPS" with the daily-adjusted value created by the updated entitlement formula.
- A new balance, Part-Time Regular Earnings TPS, is provided to manage the scenario where part-time (PTR) employees, that are not paying contributions to the Scheme, have earnings reduced because of one of the supported unpaid absence types.
- When reporting payments after termination on the MCR all applicable "when earned" rows are reported from the period when the earnings were due up to the period of termination, even if there is no change to the earnings in the period of termination.
- When reporting payments after termination for supply teachers (PTIC) in April the actual pensionable pay is no longer reported in both the period 1st to 5th April and the period 6th to 30th April, only in the period 6th to 30th April.
- When an employee has pensionable allowances, their actual pensionable pay is rounded correctly for the MCR April split service periods.
- Notional pensionable pay is reported correctly in the MCR when it is reported for the first time in a when paid update line.
- The address no longer has incorrect spaces when reporting an update line.
