Career Site Cookies Validity

The validity period for some non-essential cookies has increased from 7 to 90 days to provide an enhanced browsing experience for candidates. Prior to 24C, candidate consent for cookies was collected every 7 days even if a candidate accepted. Now, if a candidate accepts or declines cookies, their choice is stored for 90 days. After 90 days the consent modal is presented again to collect their choice. If a candidate hasn’t provided consent, then the cookie consent modal will be presented every time they access the site.

NOTE: Once a candidate accepts or declines cookies, the cookie consent modal isn't presented to them again until they clear their browser cookie history or until the cookie validity expires after 90 days. However, you can add a link to cookie preferences in either the header or footer to provide candidates with a way to change their preferences without having to clear their cookie history.

The following cookies are now valid for 90 days:

  • CX_<SITE_NUMBER>_cookieAccept_functional - used to store the candidate's choice for functional cookies.
  • CX_<SITE_NUMBER>_cookieAccept_analytical - used to store the candidate's choice for analytical and performance cookies.
  • CX_<SITE_NUMBER>_cookieAccept_custom - used to store the candidate's choice for custom category cookies.
  • CX_<SITE_NUMBER>_cookieDeclineAll - used to store the candidate's choice to decline all cookie categories.
  • ORA__CX_SITE_LANG - used to store the candidate language preference. The next time the candidate visits the career site that edit will be loaded in the user preferred language.
  • ORA_CX_DEVICEID - used for the Keep Me Signed In feature. It recognizes the device used by a candidate to allow automated verification of candidate when Keep Me Signed In option was selected in the past on the same device. This cookie isn't tied to the cookie consent.

The increased validity period provides a better user experience for the candidates.
