Enable New Benefits Alerts

You can now use the standard Alerts functionality to send automatic notifications to benefits participants for these events:

1. Benefit bill charges
2. Benefit bill payments
3. Self-report life events (submission confirmation, approval, rejection, and requests for more information)
4. Court orders

These alerts are sent only when the features are accessed through the Redwood pages.

You need to enable the court orders alert to make it available to benefits users.

Here’s the list of alerts:

Name	Type	What it does?
Benefits Bill Charges Alert (BEN_BILL_CHARGES)	Event	Notifies employees about their unpaid bills for the calendar period.
Benefits Bill Payments Alert (BEN_BILL_PAYMENT)	Event	Notifies employees about the receipt of their payment.
Approval of Self-Reported Life Event Alert (BEN_SELF_REPORTED_LIFE_EVENT_APPROVED)	Event	Notifies employees about the approval of a self-reported life event.
Rejection of Self-Reported Life Event Alert (BEN_SELF_REPORTED_LIFE_EVENT_REJECTED)	Event	Notifies employees that the self-reported life event was rejected.
Successful Submission of Self-Reported Life Event Alert (BEN_SELF_REPORTED_LIFE_EVENT_SUBMIT)	Event	Notifies employees that the self-reported life event was submitted successfully.
Request for More Information on Self-Reported Life Event Alert (BEN_SELF_REPORTED_LIFE_EVENT_INFO_REQD)	Event	Notifies employees that more information is required for the self-reported life event.
Ending of Court Order Alert (BEN_COURT_ORDER_DEPENDENT_ENDDATED)	Event	Notifies employees that the dependent's coverage court order is ending.

This enhancement reduces the need for Benefits administrators to send manual communications and thereby saves time.

Steps to Enable

At a high level, here's what you need to do to enable the court order alert and make it available to benefits users.

1. Click Navigator > Tools > Alerts Composer  to enable the alerts you want to use.
2. Open the alert for editing. You can use the Templates tab if you want to change the wording, format, or add graphics and links.
3. Use the Run Options tab if you want to define a schedule for event alerts and make any changes to the delivered runtime settings.
