Additional Grade Step Progression Diagnostics
We updated the Grade Step Progression Diagnostics by adding new tests and enhancing an existing test.
These are the four new tests:
- Assignments with a Grade Ladder and No Grade
- Assignments with a Grade Not Valid for the Grade Ladder
- Assignments with a Grade and No Step
- Assignment Grade Step Records with a Step Not Valid for the Grade
And, we enhanced the existing test, Assignment Grade Step Records with Overlapping Effective Dates. The test now shows assignment grade step records where the effective start and end dates are the same as another record, or fall between the start and end dates of another record. Previously the test didn't capture records where the start and end dates are the same.
With this enhancement, improve your ability to find and correct data errors.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
- The name of the diagnostic to run is Grade Step Progression Diagnostics.
- You can run the Grade Step Progression Diagnostics in the Diagnostic Dashboard. Supply an input parameter of either Grade Ladder or Person Number.
- The four new tests cover conditions that the grade step progression processes records as errors. After running a process, you see the data issues as error messages on the Review Proposed Progressions and Salary Updates page. You can get a head start on fixing your data by running the Grade Step Progression Diagnostics earlier than you run your grade step progression processes.
