Redwood: Control Check-in Templates By Manager Type

You can now control which check-in template should be available for a manager type by specifying the manager types when you configure the check-in template. For example, line managers could check-in with employees using a simple questionnaire while a custom performance manager role could review performance goals in their check-ins with employees.

When you create a check-in template, you can use Manager Types to select all manager types or select one or more specific manager types.

Based on this configuration, when a HR or manager creates a check-in they’ll see the templates made available to them based on the manager type relationship for the employee’s assignment. Similarly, an employee will see check-in templates that are available for the manager type of the manager they have selected.

This feature enables you to control the check-in templates available for different manager types.

Tips And Considerations

  • As the Performance Document, Check-in, and Goals Center are closely connected the Redwood version of these pages you can enable or disable all using the common ORA_HRA_PERFORMANCE_DOCUMENTS_AND_GOALS_REDWOOD_ENABLED profile option. These features can't be enabled individually.
  • The selection of the manager type doesn’t impact any existing check-in documents created from the check-in template but will only restrict future created documents.
  • The selection of the manager type works in addition to the employee's eligibility for the check-in template.
  • This feature is applicable both to Performance and Touchpoints.
