Enable Redwood Experience for Enrollment Overrides Page in Benefits Summary

Explore the new enrollment override functionality within the benefits summary page recreated in the Redwood Toolset's Visual Builder Studio. This feature introduces enhanced functionality to streamline benefits administration tasks, delivering an improved and more intuitive experience.

To launch the page, click Benefits Administration > Benefits Activity Center. Navigate to the Benefits Summary page.

Steps to Enable

You need to enable these profile options at the Site level using the Manage Administrator Profile Values task in the Setup and Maintenance work area:

  • ORA_HCM_VBCS_PWA_ENABLED
  • ORA_BEN_ADMINISTRATIVE_ENROLLMENT_REDWOOD_ENABLED.

Tips And Considerations

  • Negative numbers are not allowed.
  • You can add or remove dependents only by using a life event.
  • You can add or remove beneficiaries only by using a life event.
  • You can only edit specific fields related to dates and numbers such as coverage or rate start and end dates, amounts, percentages, and values. You can’t create, delete, or void existing enrollments or their child records.
  • The changes made in the override page won’t refresh the pending actions.
  • Changes are committed upon clicking the save button.
  • Changes made to data on the override page won’t result in any changes to downstream or upstream data except for payroll element entries associated with participant rates.
  • Certain fields are restricted for savings plans, absence plans, interim, and suspended enrollments.
  • Enrollment overrides are typically used for exceptions and not part of your daily transactions.

Access Requirements

If you have custom roles, ensure that the respective privileges and aggregate privileges of the functional modules are part of your role hierarchy.

After adding the privileges and aggregate privileges, regenerate the data role and verify the user interfaces.

Here's how you regenerate a role:

  1. Navigate to Workforce Administration > Workforce Structures > Data roles and security profiles.
  2. Search for the role.
  3. Click Edit, Next.
  4. Review and submit the changes. 

If you have direct job roles assigned to users, you need to create data role out of the job role for the data security to work.
