Expiration Date Enhancements in Job Offers
Take advantage of the enhanced logic and control added to the expiration date in job offers.
As an administrator, you can restrict candidates to accept or decline their job offers after the offer’s expiration date by disabling a new setting called Allow candidates to accept or decline job offers after the offer’s expiration date.
By default, this setting is enabled so that customers can experience the current behavior. However, if customers want to use this new control, they can disable the new setting.
Job Offer Expiration Date Setting
When the setting is disabled:
- Candidates can’t respond to the job offer when the expiration date has passed.
- Candidates get a message when they click on the job offer link embedded in the Extend Job Offer notification.
- The Accept and Decline buttons are disabled.
- Candidates need to reach out to the Recruiting team for the job offer to be re-extended.
With these enhancements:
- Customers have more control in getting timely response on the job offer from the candidates.
- Alerts added as part of this enhancement will save time in extending the job offer by alerting the offer team in case offer extension is errored out.
- Candidates will be notified prior to the expiration date, so that they can respond to the job offer in stipulated time frame.
Steps to Enable
By default, the setting is enabled. Follow these steps to disable it.
- In the Setup and Maintenance work area, go to:
- Offering: Recruiting and Candidate Experience
- Functional Area: Recruiting and Candidate Experience Management
- Task: Enterprise Recruiting and Candidate Experience
- Expand the Offer section and click Edit.
- Clear the option Allow candidates to accept or decline job offers after the offer’s expiration date.
- Click Save.
As part of these enhancements, a new notification is available in Alerts Composer to inform the offer team that a job offer was not extended to the candidate due to any reason (for example, BI Publisher connectivity issue, data integrity issue). This notification will help the offer team in promptly fixing the error and re-extending the job offer, which will avoid delays in extending the job offer.
- IRC_JobOffer_Extension_Failed
Minor changes were also made to these candidate notifications available in the Recruiting Content Library. The job offer expiration date has been added to these notifications so that the candidate is informed to respond to the job offer before the job offer expiration date.
- ORA_OFFER_EXTENDED_EXT
- ORA_OFFER_EXTENDED_INT
- ORA_OFFER_REEXTENDED_EXT
- ORA_OFFER_REEXTENDED_INT
Customers who have customized the above candidate notifications will need to manually add this expiration date verbiage if they enable the new setting.
Tips And Considerations
- The job offer expiration date is always stored in UTC. It’s not based on the time zone of the candidate or the recruiter. As a result, the job offer will be expired when UTC time ends.
- The job offer expiration date enhancements and all the notifications mentioned above are available in both Redwood and responsive pages.
