Group Order for Published Open Shifts

When publishing schedules, you can now select Post open shifts for workers to claim. You can also select the Enable Group Order option and specify which group or groups can access the open shifts first. And you can specify how many days after those groups all other eligible workers can access the open shifts. Workers get notifications for and can see only the shifts that they’re eligible to claim based on their access window.

Smart Handling for All Shift Scenarios

  • When you create new open shifts, the Use Group Order option is available. Here's the default behavior for that option:

    • If the current date is before the schedule period start date, the open shift inherits the publish schedule settings.

    • If current date is on or after the schedule period start date, the open shift has the Use Group Order option unselected.

  • If shifts are unassigned or dropped, priority access is automatically turned off and they're instantly available to all eligible workers.

  • For split shifts, the group order setting carries over from the original full shift.

You can manually adjust settings as appropriate.
