IMPORTANT: Mandatory Migration to Enhanced Skills Suggestions Using Generative AI

Change: Users must migrate from the skill suggestions that are based on predictive AI (machine learning based) before 26B. Starting 26B Oracle will no longer support skill suggestions based on predictive AI. These skill suggestions are what populate the suggested skills for the following:

  • For employee
    • Skills river suggestions in Skills Center
  • For HR specialists when they perform the below tasks
    • Create or edit job or position profiles
    • Create or edit capability guides in role guides
    • Create or edit job requisitions in Recruiting or Opportunity Marketplace
    • Create or edit gigs in Opportunity Marketplace  
    • Configure the Job Skills Enrichment Agent
    • Receiving skills suggestions from the Learning Skills Enrichment Agent
    • Selecting skills from skill suggestions while creating or editing a learning item

Details: In 26A, Oracle released enhanced skills suggestions that are based on generative AI. Skill suggestions based on generative AI are more relevant and contextual compared to predictive AI.

Does this impact me? Yes. If any of your skill suggestions across applications use predictive AI.

In 25D, the skills suggestions are based on only predictive AI.

In 26A, customers have the option to choose between predictive and generative AI based skill suggestions. By default, the predictive AI skills suggestions are enabled using the profile options ORA_HRT_SKILLS_CENTER_SUGGESTIONS and ORA_HRT_SKILL_SUGGESTIONS that are set to Legacy.

The Legacy option will not be available starting 26B.

Why move to Enhanced Skills Suggestions? Skill suggestions based on generative AI are more relevant and contextual compared to predictive AI.

What do I need to do?

Note that the ESS job Synchronize Talent Data for AI Recommendations is being replaced by Create Summaries Using Generative AI. You need to:

  1. Set the ORA_WLF_AI_COMPANY_INFO profile option to Site level and provide a description of the organization, including the organization name as the profile value.
  2. Stop the ESS job Synchronize Talent Data for AI Recommendations.
  3. Schedule the ESS job Create Summaries Using Generative AI on a recurring basis.Manage Administrator Profile Values page
