Configure Calendar Event Body

You can configure the content of calendar events sent to learners and instructors. Help them stay informed and organized with the right information in a familiar tone and phrasing, before their events begins. Create distinct templates for learners and instructors, available in both plain text and rich text formats.

Changes you make to calendar body templates apply in these areas:

• Microsoft Outlook calendar events when Microsoft Outlook integration is enabled
• ICS attachment downloaded by learners from their enrollment page and added as an activity to their preferred calendar app.
• ICS attachment downloaded by instructors or learning specialists from the activity list on the Offerings page and added as an activity to their preferred calendar app.
• ICS attachment downloaded by learners or instructors from event alerts related to instructor-led activities. 

This feature lets you improve clarity about, and learning engagement with calendar invites for instructor-led activities.

Steps to Enable

• Set the site-level value to Yes for the ORA_WLF_CUSTOMIZE_CALENDAR_TEMPLATES profile option. Go to Setup and Maintenance > Tasks panel > Search > Manage Administrator Profile Values.
• Edit default templates as appropriate.
• Configure security to use this feature. See the Access Requirements section.

Access Requirements

Learning administrators need this functional privilege to access the Configure Calendar Event Templates task. The delivered Learning Specialist role has this privilege, but you need to add it to all relevant custom roles.
