Ask Oracle: Learning Tutor for Self-Directed Learning

Get real-time, interactive support in Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM Learning using the new AI-powered Learning Tutor agent. Leveraging advanced large language models, this agent lets you ask questions, get concise learning overviews, practice quizzes, and access guidance on a range of topics—focusing on general knowledge and publicly available information. The tutor can record learning interactions as external completions, thus helping you formally track your development.

To get started, click Ask Oracle in the Learning Tutor banner message. To make it easier for you to get relevant help, on the Learning Tutor drawer, you'll see sample prompts, such as What can you teach me about AI in 10 minutes? or How can I improve my knowledge on cloud computing?. The chat has concise, semi-formal responses, structured into overviews, step-by-step guides, quizzes, or tips depending on your request.

At the end of an interaction, the tutor gives you an option to record the session as a learning experience on your transcript. The prompt summarizes what was learned and populates an external learning completion with a title, brief description, date, and duration, thus automatically tracking informal learning, and boosting recognition and compliance for continuous education initiatives.

Learning Tutor empowers learners to drive their own development and upskilling, and ensures that learning activities—including those not covered by formal courses—are recognized and documented. Learners are encouraged to explore and build knowledge on demand.

Steps to Enable

  1. Deploy the AI agent team using the delivered template.
    • Template name: My Learning Assistant
    • AI agent team code: ORA_HCM_LEARNING_MY_LEARNING_ASSISTANT_TEAM
  2. Create a guided journey with the AI agent as a task.
  3. Add the AI agent to Redwood pages using the guided journey from step 2.
    • We suggest you add the agent to the Me > Learning and Development: Learning Catalog page

Note: If you get the November quarterly update, using this AI agent requires applying the cumulative weekly patch bundle dated 14-Nov. This bundle is also included in the December monthly release.
