Support for Pension Automatic Enrolment

You can now retrieve AEPN details from NAERSA, deduct MyFutureFund deductions, using the delivered process, calculation card, elements and balances, and generate the contribution submission details.

AEPN Details

To collect AEPN details for your employees submit payroll flow: Retrieve AEPN Details

Required parameters are Payroll Statutory Unit and Tax Reporting Unit

An errors and warnings report will be generated as part of the flow.

My Future Fund Calculation Card

The information retrieved from NAERSA will be used to manage data held in a calculation card for pensions automatic enrolment called My Future Fund.

If the calculation card doesn't exist for an employee, then it will be created as of the issue date. 

If the calculation card already exists, the data held on the calculation card will be updated as of the issue date, if there has been a change to the AEPN number.

The My Future Fund calculation card can be created manually, if required, but care should be taken to ensure that the details entered are as provided by NAERSA.

My Future Fund Calculation

The calculation of MyFutureFund contributions are based on the rates entered on the calculation card, received from NAERSA, and the results will be returned to the appropriate elements and balances.

If there is a shortfall in the employee's contribution due to be paid to NAERSA then this shortfall will be paid by the employer in the period it is due. The amount will be shown in the element and balance called MyFutureFund Arrears Borne by Employer.

This amount could be considered as a loan to be repaid to the employer, and the balance MyFutureFund Arrears Owed to the Employer should be reduced by the element you use to recover this loan.

Generate Contribution Submission Details

To generate the contribution submission for your employees submit payroll flow: Generate MFF Contribution Submission Details

Required parameters are:

  • Payroll Statutory Unit
  • Tax Reporting Unit
  • Payroll
  • Prepayment
  • Payroll Run Reference

The file is based on a prepayment for a selected TRU and payroll, and will contain all employees who have a MyFutureFund deduction within the prepayment.

An errors and warnings report will be generated as part of the flow.

This feature enables you to be legislatively compliant.

Steps to Enable and Configure

Before processing any My Future Fund retrieval of AEP details, or My Future Fund calculations please ensure that you have:

  1. Created a new 'Payroll Process Configuration' or update an existing one for PAE so that the parameter name 'Ireland Revenue control of web service connection Customer control of web service connection' has a value equal to 1.
  2. Added values to lookup type 'PAE Run References' (ORA_HRX_IE_PAE_RUN_REF). This lookup type provides similar functionality to that of  ORA_HRX_IE_PAYROLL_RUN_REF, as it is used to identify the payroll event that the 'Generate MFF Contribution Submission Details' refers to. When entering the lookup code ensure that it is prefixed with the relevant tax year, such as 26% for 2026.
  3. Created an element eligibility for element 'My Future Fund'.
  4. Added the appropriate subclassification to any standard, supplemental or absence earnings elements that will be considered as MyFutureFund Pensionable Earnings.
