Scheduling Rules Enhancements
You now have more options when scheduling your workforce.
- The weekend rule was updated. Instead of just counting weekends, you can now set the minimum and maximum number of hours worked on weekends. And validation processing checks if workers meet weekend hour requirements—both when creating schedules and during self-scheduling. If someone tries to pick too many weekday shifts and hasn’t met their weekend hours, they’ll be alerted.
- The rule for shift types was broadened to cover all shifts, not just one type. You can decide the minimum and maximum shifts of a specific type, type family (such as Work or On-call), or category a worker can have in a week or schedule period.
- New option to ignore work pattern validation: If you need more flexibility for certain roles or situation, you can turn off work pattern checks for all shifts, just for certain shift families, or for specific shift types

You can also assign rule sets to different teams or individuals based on additional conditions, such as age and standard or calculated working hours.
With these updates, scheduling can better comply with regulatory requirements and match your team's needs—making work fairer, schedules clearer, and shift planning easier.

Tips And Considerations
- Approved absences on weekends still count toward required hours.
- For any new schedule generation profile and after any update to a profile rule, you'll need to use rule sets. You won't be able to use default rules anymore.
