Evaluate Absences with WFM Scheduling

If a worker schedules an absence during a published schedule window, WFM Scheduling doesn't assign them any shifts for those days. The absence is considered to be a part of the published schedule. When using WFM Scheduling, the following Absence Management configuration is recommended for Absence Types:

  • Enable Override Daily Duration
  • Set the Schedule Hierarchy Starting Point to Published Schedule

With the above configuration, the Evaluate Absences process retains the original absence duration, and only regenerates the absence plan breakdown when processing absences that fall within a published schedule window.

Let's assume the worker's work pattern changes and there are future dated absences outside the published schedule window. In that case, you can use the Evaluate Absences process to adjust the absence entries and absence duration to align with the new pattern.

When you use the recommended configuration and re-evaluate an absence that's part of a published schedule, the application retains the original absence duration and only regenerates the absence plan breakdown.
