Editing Absences with WFM Scheduling
When using WFM Scheduling, we recommend the following Absence Management configuration for absence types:
- Enable Override Daily Duration
- Set the Schedule Hierarchy Starting Point to Published Schedule
With the above configuration, absences are considered to be a part of the published schedules. Shifts that overlap with a worker's absence are reassigned to other workers. If the worker edits a scheduled absence that is part of the published schedule, the system retains the absence entries for all the days not modified by the worker.
The system retrieves new shifts from the published schedule only if the absence is extended. The absence duration and shift breakdown remain unchanged for the original absence dates.
When you use WFM Scheduling with the recommended absence type configuration, an absence becomes part of the published schedule. Therefore, when an absence is edited, the system retains the absence entries for any day not modified by the user.
