Recommend Career Roles Using Recommendation Profiles

Career roles can now be recommended alongside learning items when creating a new recommendation profile or updating existing profiles. A new Career Roles option is now available in the Resources list, which enables administrators and managers to deliver more targeted career development guidance.

Only roles linked to active job profiles are available for selection. This ensures that recommendations remain timely and relevant. Multiple career roles can be added to a single recommendation profile, with built-in safeguards to prevent duplicates. Inactive roles are clearly marked with a badge, and any associated recommendations are withdrawn when the recommendation profile is run again.   

Career role recommendations appear on the Grow and Opportunity Marketplace pages once they’re assigned to the intended audience, providing targeted guidance when users explore development opportunities.

For easier management and review, both recommendation profiles and generated recommendations can now be filtered by the Career Roles resource type.

Tips And Considerations

• If the ORA_WLF_RECOM_IGNORE_LEARNER_ENGMT profile option is set to N, recommendations are created only for users who've not already engaged with the career role. If it's set to Y, recommendations are created for all users, regardless of prior engagement.

• When you select Career role recommendations as a recommendation category, choose Career Roles as a resource to recommend. For any other recommendation category, choose Learning Items as a resource to recommend.
