New Conversion Rule for Work Schedule–Based Absence Unit Calculation

You can now use the Periodic Work Schedule Units Based Rate conversion rule when you create a new element. This conversion rule accurately calculates absence units and payroll amounts using the actual work schedule assigned to the employee. It lets you:

  • Populate daily scheduled hours correctly when absence plans use calendar days and payroll elements use hours as the reporting unit.
  • Prevent defaulting to 8 hours.
  • Ensure precise deductions and earnings for employees with non-standard schedules.

You can use this conversion rule for elements with the following classifications:

  • Absences
  • Imputed Earnings
  • Nonpayroll Payment
  • Standard Earnings
  • Supplemental Earnings

The new conversion rule provides the following benefits:

  • Derives daily hours from the employee’s work schedule
  • Populates absence units based on scheduled daily hours
  • Calculates payroll amounts using correct work schedule–based units
  • Ensures accurate payroll results for employees with non-standard schedules
