New Conversion Rule for Work Schedule–Based Absence Unit Calculation
You can now use the Periodic Work Schedule Units Based Rate conversion rule when you create a new element. This conversion rule accurately calculates absence units and payroll amounts using the actual work schedule assigned to the employee. It lets you:
- Populate daily scheduled hours correctly when absence plans use calendar days and payroll elements use hours as the reporting unit.
- Prevent defaulting to 8 hours.
- Ensure precise deductions and earnings for employees with non-standard schedules.
You can use this conversion rule for elements with the following classifications:
- Absences
- Imputed Earnings
- Nonpayroll Payment
- Standard Earnings
- Supplemental Earnings
The new conversion rule provides the following benefits:
- Derives daily hours from the employee’s work schedule
- Populates absence units based on scheduled daily hours
- Calculates payroll amounts using correct work schedule–based units
- Ensures accurate payroll results for employees with non-standard schedules
Steps to Enable and Configure
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
- You can select the Periodic Work Schedule Units Based Rate conversion rule only when creating a new element.
- Existing elements using other conversion rules continue to function as before.
- Ensure that the employee has an assigned work schedule.
