View Skill Suggestions for Career Roles, Job Requisitions, Gigs, and Role Guides Using Generative AI

You can now view enhanced skill suggestions powered by generative AI (GenAI) when you perform these tasks:

• Create or edit job or position profiles
• Create or edit capability guides in role guides
• Create or edit job requisitions in Recruiting or Opportunity Marketplace
• Create or edit gigs in Opportunity Marketplace  
• Configure the Job Skills Enrichment Agent

Before this upgrade, skill suggestions were provided based on predictive AI. You can now move to GenAI-based skill suggestions through a new profile option, ORA_HRT_SKILL_SUGGESTIONS. By default, it's set to the value of Legacy, which provides skill suggestions using predictive AI. You can change it to one of these values to leverage GenAI: 

• Next Generation – Uses generative AI.
• Next Generation with Workflow Agents – Uses AI Agents based on Agent Studio, which enables you to customize the AI prompts based on your needs.

Skill suggestions based on generative AI are more relevant and contextual to a job title, capability guide, or gig.

Business benefit: This feature leverages GenAI to create improved skill recommendations and gives you the flexibility to opt into it. 

Steps to Enable and Configure

Select one of these values for the ORA_HRT_SKILL_SUGGESTIONS profile option:

Legacy: If you’re currently seeing skill suggestions, the profile option is set to this default value. If you don’t change the value, you’ll continue to get skill suggestions based on predictive AI.  

Next Generation: Select this to move to GenAI-based suggestions. For details, see How do I enable enhanced skill suggestions using generative AI?

Next Generation with Workflow Agents: Select this to move to GenAI-based suggestions using AI Agents. To use this option, you need to perform additional configuration tasks using AI Agent Studio. For details, see How do I enable enhanced skill suggestions using AI Agents?

The prerequisites for using AI Agent Studio are:

• Your environment must have the appropriate services for Oracle Applications Platform deployed. For more information, see FAQ2521 on My Oracle Cloud Support.
• Set the Enable Security Console External Application Integration (ORA_ASE_SAS_INTEGRATION_ENABLED) profile option to Yes and enable permission groups for the appropriate roles. See Access Requirements for AI Agent Studio.

Note that all these values can be set only at the site level. To set profile option values, see How do I enable a profile option?

Tips And Considerations

• Skill suggestions are displayed in the language of your current session, if the job title and description are in that language.
• Skills are suggested based on these attributes for each of these objects:
  • Name and description for job or position profiles
  • Guide name and description for capability guides
  • Role name for a gig
  • Title and job description of a requisition
  • Job profiles selected in the filtered list for the Job Skills Enrichment Agent.
• The skills suggested by the Job Skills Enrichment Agent fulfill the criteria you specify for the confidence score thresholds for a manual review and automatic approval, as well as the number of top skills to suggest.

Access Requirements

The agents you can view depend on the roles and privileges assigned to you. To access the Skill Recommendation Agent, your role must be explicitly granted access to it by an AI Studio Administrator. See How can I give users access to AI agents and Access Requirements for AI Agent Studio.
