Event Retention Period for Unprocessed Record of Employment
Enhancements were made to the Record of Employment (ROE) archive process to introduce a configurable retention period for unprocessed Record of Employment Notification events.
With this update, we have introduced a new field on Legal Entity HCM Information -> Payroll statutory unit details page called “Unprocessed Event Retention Period”. This field specifies the number of days to retain unprocessed ROE notification events, which include events in "Deferred" and "Awaiting Processing" statuses.
The field supports the following values:
- Numeric values greater than or equal to 30
- Blank
Value is interpreted in days. When a value is specified, unprocessed notification events are retained for the specified number of days. Any unprocessed events older than this period are deleted. When the field is blank, unprocessed ROE notification events are not deleted.
Example
Unprocessed Event Retention Period = 60
ROE Archive Process Run Date: May 4, 2026
Retention Cutoff Date: March 5, 2026
Unprocessed ROE Notification Events - ROE Archive Process Run Outcome
| Event Process Date | Age | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| April 20, 2026 | 14 Days | Retained |
| March 5, 2026 | 60 Days | Retained |
| March 4, 2026 | 61 Days | Deleted |
When the ROE Archive process runs, the system calculates the age of each unprocessed notification event based on the event's process date and the current system date. Events processed within the last 60 days are retained. Any events older than 60 days are deleted.

Record of Employment Reporting Rules: Unprocessed Event Retention Period field
This update enables the configuration of a retention period for unprocessed ROE notification events, allowing events older than the specified period to be purged from the system. This is particularly beneficial for large organizations that may have accumulated a high volume of unprocessed events over time.
Steps to enable and configure
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips and considerations
- Retention periods less than 30 days are not allowed.
- Once the ROE archive process is run, all the Legal Entities within that LDG that have a value present in the “Unprocessed Event Retention Period” field will have their unprocessed ROE events purged.
- This enhancement impacts both ADF and Redwood versions of the UI.
- Unprocessed events are those that are NOT in “Complete status” (i.e. only Awaiting Processing and Deferred).
