Duration Formula Support for Absence Types With Days UOM and Elapsed Schedules

Use fast formulas to record partial-day absence durations other than 1 day or .5 day in supported Redwood absence entry pages.

You can gain greater flexibility in recording partial-day absences for absence types with days UOM and workers with an elapsed schedule with these enhancements:

  • Use a fast formula to calculate a partial-day absence duration other than a full or half day, up to 1 day.
  • Pass the worker’s full day or half day selection to the duration formula as an input value.
  • Display the worker’s original full day or half day selection when they edit the absence.

Support more accurate partial-day absence recording for workers with elapsed schedules. Organizations can use duration formulas to capture absence durations that don’t fit only full-day or half-day values.

Steps to enable and configure

  • Select the appropriate fast formula in the Conversion Formula field under the Type Details tab of the absence type setup page.
Ensure that the formula returns a duration no more than 1 day.

  • In the Redwood absence entry page, select Full Day or Half Day when entering the absence.
The application will use the formula to calculate the absence duration accordingly.

Tips and considerations

This feature applies only to absence types with days UOM for workers with elapsed schedules.
