Expanded Personal Contributions Assistant Capabilities

You can now also use the Personal Contributions Assistant to ask about current and prior contributions, review eligible plans and options, and prepare supported contribution requests in a guided conversation. The assistant maintains conversation and assignment context so employees can move from questions to transaction preparation without repeating information.

Use the assistant to:

  • List active assignments and select or switch the assignment used for subsequent questions and requests. If no assignment is specified, the assistant uses the primary assignment.

  • Review current and prior contribution allocations, list eligible plans and options for the selected assignment.

  • Ask policy-related questions and receive answers based on the added policy documents available to the assistant.

  • Resolve supported HCM lookup and value-set choice-list entries through follow-up questions, including clarification when several values match and retries when no value matches.

  • Continue unsupported operations using an assignment-aware link to the Redwood Personal Contributions page.

The assistant also supports referential questions, disambiguation, corrections, and transitions from an inquiry to a transaction across multiple turns. Before submission, employees review the transaction summary and explicitly confirm whether to submit it. Approvers can edit transactions submitted through the assistant using the existing Redwood experience.

Tips and considerations

  • Policy-specific responses depend on the content of the published customer policy document.

  • Only active assignments available to the employee can be listed or selected.

  • The assistant uses the primary assignment when a prompt doesn't specify another assignment.

  • Payroll view object-based choice lists and dependent choice-list chains aren't supported.

  • After three unsuccessful attempts to resolve a choice-list value, the assistant provides a link to continue in Redwood.

  • The assistant doesn't modify or delete existing personal contribution allocations.

  • The assistant doesn't create allocations for plans linked to stock, documents of record, or budgets.

  • Transaction comments, attachments, and numerical hours input types aren't supported in the assistant flow.
