Transfer Calculated Time Entries for Absences to Payroll

Transfer calculated overtime and shift premium entries associated with absences from Time and Labor to Payroll.

When absences are reported on a time card, Time Calculation Rules can generate overtime and shift premiums and associate the calculated entries with the absence entries. Prior to this release, Time and Labor transferred only calculated entries associated with worked time to Payroll; calculated entries associated with absences weren't transferred.

Enable Payroll to receive calculated overtime, shift premiums, and other additional pay entries linked to employee absences, alongside regular work time.

Steps to enable and configure

In Functional Setup Manager, click Change Feature Opt In and edit Time and Labor features. Enable the Transfer Calculated Entries Associated to Absences to Payroll opt-in feature.  

Tips and considerations

• When an absence is entered on a time card, Oracle Time and Labor copies the reported absence to the calculated time layer and retrieves the calculated duration from Oracle Absence Management.
• Oracle Absence Management stores the absence and transfers the absence entry to Oracle Payroll after the absence or time card is approved.
• Don’t use time calculation rules to modify the original absence entry. Modifying it can cause the time card to differ from the absence duration transferred to Payroll.
• Instead, use time calculation rules to generate additional calculated entries for premiums or other additional pay associated with the absence. Configure each generated entry’s Time Type as a Payroll Time Type so that it transfers to Payroll.
