Support of ED Jan ISIR Code Updates for 2025-26 and 2026-27
On January 21, 2026, the Department of Education released an updates to Volumes 5 and 7 of the FAFSA Specification Guides for the 2025–2026 and 2026–2027 award years. In order to support these changes, we've made updates to pre-populate data and baseline configuration to account for new and updated comment codes as well as updated Reject Codes.
New Comment Codes
Added new comment codes to identify missing state information for mailing addresses. All are Resolution Required:
- 335 – Student mailing address missing state
- 336 – Parent mailing address missing state
- 337 – Parent spouse/partner mailing address missing state
- 338 – Student spouse mailing address missing state
Users are directed to StudentAid.gov to update address information.
Updated Comment Codes
- 303 – Updated Tax Award Year referenced in resolution messaging
- 329 – Updated resolution messaging text
- 292, 293, 294 – Set to N/A for 2026–2027 (no longer used)

Steps to enable and configure
Use the Opt In UI to enable this feature. For instructions, refer to the Optional Uptake of New Features section of this document.

Update Configuration Scripts:
- Review baseline configuration for ISIR processing posted on Cloud Customer Connect, and update your configuration as needed.
- To get started, ensure that "Configuration Administration" Permission is enabled and download your existing configuration from Oracle Student Financial Aid within Administration > Configuration Administration > Download.
- The following workbooks were updated to automate processing for the new ISIR updates
- ISIR_C_CODES workbook for both 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 Award Years
- ISIR_REJECT_TO_C_CODES workbook for both 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 Award Years
- ISIR_REJECT_CODES Workbook for both 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 Award Years
- ISIR_REJECT_CODES_TO_FIELDS Workbook for both 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 Award Years
- The following workbooks were updated to automate processing for the new ISIR updates
- If you updated your configuration, navigate to Administration > Configuration Administration, and upload your zipped configuration
- To get started, ensure that "Configuration Administration" Permission is enabled and download your existing configuration from Oracle Student Financial Aid within Administration > Configuration Administration > Download.
