Update Automation Agents to Better Support AES HOLD and HOLD RELEASE Messages

This feature provides a new PUBLIC automation agent to support the AES HOLD and HOLD RELEASE response messages. Recently, U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) has updated AES filing to support new response codes related to holds. These response messages are already supported in GTM. The new PUBLIC automation agent simplifies the configuration of GTM for the new response messages.

A new automation agent called 'PROCESS CUSTOMS FILING RESPONSE V1' is available. This automation agent supports all the AES processes as the previous automation agent along with support for the new HOLD and HOLD RELEASE messages. The new automation agent includes an additional action, enabling GTM to listen for the AES HOLD and HOLD RELEASE response messages and process them accordingly.

Business Benefit

This enhancement reduces configuration effort required to use AES filing capabilities, reducing implementation cost and effort.

Steps to Enable

The automation agent called 'PROCESS CUSTOMS FILING RESPONSE V1' replaces the existing automation agent. To use the new automation agent which includes support for the HOLD and HOLD RELEASE messages:

  • Ensure the existing automation agent called 'PROCESS CUSTOMS FILING RESPONSE' has the Active checkbox unmarked indicating it is inactive. This automation agent is deprecated and will be removed in a future release.
  • Ensure the new Automation Agent called 'PROCESS CUSTOMS FILING RESPONSE V1' has the Active checkbox marked indicating it is active.

Recommendation set old Automation Agent 'PROCESS CUSTOMS FILING RESPONSE' so Active checkbox is unmarked indicating that it is inactive, set new Automation Agent called 'PROCESS CUSTOMS FILING RESPONSE V1' to Active/checkbox is checked.
