AES Filing Enhancements

This feature provides enhancements to the AES Filing capability. Based on regulatory changes, the AES Template related to the X12.601 Customs & Border Protection (CBP) - Export Shipment Information specification has been updated as follows:

• A conditional data element for the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) Category XXI Determination Number has been added. When the DDTC USML Category Code is '21', the Category XXI Determination Number must be sent to AES in the X117 element. To support this number, a new Declaration Line Reference Number Qualifier of 'USML CATEGORY XXI DETERMINATION NUMBER' is available. 

• In addition, a new Document Validation Rule called 'AES VALIDATE USML DETERMINATION NUMBER' is available.

Business Benefit

As the regulations change for AES Filing, GTM is updated so that your export filing is in line with the current regulations.

CBP is also supporting a new response message and response code related to the Category XXI Determination Number:

• Response Code: 5C2
• Narrative Text: CAT XXI DETERMINATION NBR UNKNOWN
