Spot Bid Tender Winner - Normal Tender Decline/Timeout - Stop Waterfall Tender

This feature provides you with the ability to configure the Spot Bid Tender process, to stop the waterfall tendering process and leave the Shipment in the status type/value of SECURE RESOURCES SECURE RESOURCES_NO RESOURCES - in the scenario where the normal tender sent to the winning Spot Bid Tender service provider is either Declined by the service provider or an Accepted response is not received within the provided response time.

The option to stop the waterfall tendering process in this scenario is control by the property - glog.tender.spotbid.avoidRetenderOnAcceptedSpotBidTender - the options available are:

• false - the default value for this property - no change in behavior i.e., waterfall tender continues to process.

• true - when sent to try, the waterfall tender process will not proceed, and the shipment status type SECURE RESOURCES will have the value of SECURE RESOURCES_NO RESOURCES.

In the example below, a shipment has been Spot Bid Tendered to a set of service providers.  The lowest bid service provider CARRIER01 is awarded the shipment - as shown below.

With the property - glog.tender.spotbid.avoidRetenderOnAcceptedSpotBidTender set to false - the default value for this property - the waterfall tender continues to process - in this case the shipment is tendered to CARRIER29, the lowest cost carrier with a contract rate on the lane.

The first service provider tendered to is more expensive, the cost for the shipment only goes up from there as the waterfall tender process continues.

Other Contract Rate Service Provider Options

With the property - glog.tender.spotbid.avoidRetenderOnAcceptedSpotBidTender set to true- the new behavior, there is no waterfall tendering.  Now when the winning carrier declines the ordinary tender, the shipment is not retendered and the status type SECURE RESOURCES will have the value of SECURE RESOURCES_NO RESOURCES as shown below.

This feature provides additional control over your spot bid tender workflow, allowing you the option to intervene in the workflow process to insure that the best service provider is assigned to your shipment.

Steps to Enable

To take advantage of the new workflow - you will need to set the set the property - glog.tender.spotbid.avoidRetenderOnAcceptedSpotBidTender - to true.  Setting the property to true will - in the case where the winning spot bid service provider declines the normal tender, will stop the retender process and will set the status SECURE_RESOURCES to SECURE RESOURCES_NO RESOURCES.
